Government offices are open from 8.00 AM to 2.00 PM. Except onFridays (official day of rest). Travel agencies and Air companies are noopen from 8.30 AM to 1.30 PM and from 4.30 PM to 7.30 PM Banks are open from 8.00 AM to 12.30 PM only (except foreign exchange offices at airports and international hotels).
In Syriaembassies and consulates are closed either on Sundays or Fridays according to the country . Shops are flexible regarding opening hours in the morning, but they close at 1.30 PM and re-open at 4.30 until 8.00 PM in summer and 7.00 PM in winter. Their day of is either Friday, Saturday or Sunday according to the religion of the owner of the location. Moslem religious holidays are based on lunar computation and vary from year to year according to the solar calendar. You will have to inquire especially for the month of Ramadhan . Christians also their own holidays which you have to reckon with in some trading areas. Legal fixed holidays are : January 1 , February 22 , March 8 , April 17 , May 1 & 6 , July 23 , September 1 ,December 25. Variable holidays include all Moslem religious holidays and Easter day.
